How to compare AI resume builders

Compare AI resume builders on five things: whether the AI adds facts, what the free plan downloads, the recurring price, devices and privacy. Start with facts: in our test of one AI model writing from a single prompt, a judge flagged claims the facts did not support in 15 of 100 resume sections. Hirova is not available yet.

Five things to check, and how

  1. Does the AI add facts? Give it a vague answer, such as “I helped with onboarding,” and see whether a percentage or a team size appears. A good tool keeps vague answers vague or asks you a question. Then check that every number on the page is one you said.
  2. What does the free plan download? Build a full resume before you pay and try to export it. Look for a watermark, a page limit, or a download button that opens a payment screen.
  3. What does it cost after the first week? Read the monthly and yearly price, whether a trial renews into a paid plan, and how you cancel.
  4. Where does it run? A native iPhone app, a website you open in Safari, or both. If you edit on your phone, try the editor there before you commit.
  5. What happens to your resume? Find out whether your documents train the provider’s AI, what is sent to it, and how to delete your account.

For the wording itself, see what AI does well and what to check in any draft.

Hirova’s launch plans

Hirova is not available yet. It is coming to the App Store for iPhone in English. The features and prices below describe the planned launch, not a service you can use or buy today.

Hirova, checked against the five questions
QuestionHirova
Does the AI add facts?AI can invent or omit details. Hirova shows the words behind every title, date and number and asks you to confirm them. Drafts are labelled “AI-generated draft. Review before use.” You must review every draft. How Hirova keeps numbers to your words.
What does the free plan download? At launch, your first resume will include the interview, the fact check and one text-based PDF in the Minimal design, free.
What does it cost?At launch, Hirova Pro will cost $19.99 a month or $79.99 a year in the US, with no free trial. Cancel any time in Settings.
What does Pro add?At launch, Hirova Pro will include up to 30 tailored versions a month, a cover letter for each, and the Editorial, Swiss and Executive designs.
Where does it run?iPhone only. There is no Android or web version. Coming to the App Store.
What happens to your resume?Your documents are not used to train AI models. Your saved contact fields are excluded from AI requests. Automatic checks remove recognizable contact details, including postal addresses, or block the request. Some formats can be missed, so review text before sharing it with AI. You can turn AI off in Settings. An imported resume is read on your iPhone.

Hirova includes basic application tracking with a status, applied date and notes for each application. It does not score resumes or list jobs. It makes no promise of interviews, job offers or how an employer’s software will read your resume. The fact sheet has the launch plans in one place.

When another tool fits better

Each line below is what that product’s own page says, checked on October 15, 2026. Features and prices change, so check the page before you choose.

  • You want to track every application in one place. Teal’s job tracker saves postings with a Chrome extension and organizes each application by stage. Teal’s page.
  • You want a score of your resume against a posting. Jobscan compares your resume with a job listing and reports a match rate and the keywords it finds missing. Jobscan’s page.
  • You need an Android app or a web editor. Kickresume has a resume app for iPhone and Android as well as its website. Kickresume’s page.
  • You know what to write and only need a layout. Pages lets you start a document from a template and replace the placeholder text with your own. Apple Pages’s page.

If you want to build it on your iPhone

If you prefer answering questions to filling in a template, Hirova’s planned workflow asks three to five short questions about each job, typed or dictated, and sets your answers as bullets for you to review. Here is how the interview works, and how it differs from Teal and Rezi on iPhone. Hirova is not available yet. For steps you can use today, see how to make a resume on your iPhone.

Common worries, answered

  • “AI makes things up.” It can. Pick a tool that shows the words each title, date and number came from and asks before it fills a gap. Hirova is built that way, and you still review the draft.
  • “I hit a paywall at download.” Export a full resume before you pay. At launch, Hirova’s first resume and its PDF in the Minimal design will be free to download.
  • “It’s another subscription.” Look for the renewal price and how to cancel before you start. Hirova Pro will have no free trial that turns into a subscription; it renews until you cancel in Settings.
  • “The score says my resume is bad.” A match score compares your words with the posting’s; it does not measure what you did. Hirova does not score resumes. It exports a text-based PDF with standard headings.

Questions

Which AI resume builder doesn’t make things up?
No AI tool can promise it never gets a detail wrong. Look for one that shows where each fact came from and asks you to confirm it. Hirova is designed around that workflow but is not available yet. Review every AI draft before use.
Is there a free AI resume builder that lets you download your resume?
Check any free plan by exporting a finished resume before you pay. Hirova is not available yet. At launch, its free first resume will include one text-based PDF in the Minimal design. Do not treat a free download of an app as proof that resume export is free.
Is there an AI resume app that interviews you?
Hirova is an iPhone app designed to ask short questions about each job, typed or dictated, and turn your answers into resume bullets. It is not available yet. Its planned workflow asks you to confirm the facts before adding them to your draft.
Is Hirova an alternative to Teal or Rezi on iPhone?
Not yet. Hirova is coming to the App Store for iPhone. Its planned workflow includes an interview about your work, a fact check and a PDF, with tailored versions and cover letters in Hirova Pro. It includes basic application tracking with a status, applied date and notes for each application, but does not score resumes. Teal offers a broader job tracker that saves postings with a Chrome extension and organizes applications by stage.
Which AI resume builder costs less than $20 a month?
Hirova is not available yet. At launch, Hirova Pro will cost $19.99 a month or $79.99 a year in the US, with no free trial. The first resume will be free. Compare any available tool on its recurring price and export limits, not just an introductory price.
